2020 — Merck — MUTABOR
There are many digital brand portals. But most of them are just as complicated in terms of content as their counterparts in PDF format. Users get lost in the forest of dos and don'ts and the helpdesk is running hot.
When developing the Digital Brand Hub, MUTABOR focussed on the users and their needs. The platform relieves the user of everything that gets in the way when working with guidelines. Best practice examples show the creative possibilities, while design generators and templates ensure that the brand remains consistent and is applied in a compliant manner.
One highlight are the generators, which can be used to create assets and layouts in hundreds of variants and colour combinations at the click of a button. The generators have the advantage that users (whether designers or amateurs) can not only work to specifications, but also playfully discover new design possibilities - without breaking the brand rules.
The Digital Brand Hub facilitates the work of designers and encourages them to discover new solutions within Merck Design. Instead of rules, the focus is on easy-to-understand explanations and best practices to convey the Merck design philosophy.
Numerous layouts, perfectly dimensioned and pre-designed with the correct colours and spacing, can be downloaded as templates for various touchpoints.
As part of the team, I was responsible for the UX/UI of the generators, the customisation of the web components and the migration of existing guidelines to the new portal.
